Whether you are a local or visitor, when you take the time to stop and have a look around, Childers is a great place to discover lots of little gems and interesting places.
Here is one idea for a fun, interesting and tasty outing that you can do in a few hours…
Stop 1: The Paragon Theatre
Experience the charm of the golden era of cinema at the Paragon Theatre. Even if there is not a show on, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a coffee and a tasty bite to eat.
While you enjoy your coffee, you can take in the lovingly restored architecture and décor that reminds of you of the heyday when theatres were the social and entertainment hubs of country towns.

Stop 2: Snakes Down Under Reptile Park & Zoo
Head south out of Childers and just out of town on Luckett’s Rd you will find Snakes Down Under. However, you will see and experience much more than snakes.
The zoo is home to over 45 species and sub-species of reptiles, amphibians, and marsupials including crocodiles, koalas, lizards and of course, some of Australia’s most amazing (and deadliest) snakes.
There are interesting and entertaining shows on at various times throughout the day including crocodile feeding and a venomous snake show featuring the world’s top five most venomous snakes.
For more information and display times, check the Snakes Down Under website www.snakesdownunder.com
Stop 3: Mammino Gourmet Ice Cream
Just down Luckett’s Rd a few hundred metres from the zoo, you will find us here at the Mammino Gourmet Ice Cream factory and shop. Naturally, we’d love for you stop in and enjoy a delightful handmade ice cream from our range of thoughtfully crafted flavours.
Once you have chosen your ice cream, you are most welcome to stay and relax in the shade and absorb the serenity of the surrounding farmland while you eat.
